Opening ceremony of the new turboprop engine test facility.
PRAGA Avia s.r.o. has completed the implementation of the turboprop engine test facility at Hradec Králové Airport and on Tuesday 25 June 2019, a grand opening ceremony and the start of test operation took place.
PRAGA Avia s.r.o. has completed the implementation of a propeller test facility for turboprop engines at Hradec Králové Airport and on Tuesday, 25 June 2019, a ceremonial opening and commencement of test operation took place.
The test facility was built on the premises of two former aircraft shelters, the so-called "hives", which PRAGA Avia has in use at Hradec Králové Airport, is completely unique in its design and is one of the most modern facilities of this type in the world. The entire area of the test facilities is intended for scientific research activities of CTU students as well as for testing newly developed turboprop engines in a joint project of CTU and GE Aviation Czech.
The opening ceremony was jointly performed by Michael Valášek, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of CTU, and Milan Šlapák, CEO of GE Aviation Czech, in the presence of Stephen B. King.
PRAGA Avia realized this demanding project of the turboprop engine development and research centre at the Hradec Králové airport in a short time of less than two years, in close cooperation with the airport owner, the City of Hradec Králové, and thanks to the immense efforts of its partners and suppliers M-PRO REAL s.r.o, TECHNOAVIA Group a.s., Greif-akustika s.r.o., Komerční banka a.s., Českomoravská záruční a rozvojová banka, a.s. and many others.
